Next Meeting, Monday, January 6th at 6:00 PM.
December 5 2019 General Meeting Minutes
In Attendance; Andrea Plunk, Kelley Seals, Christy Sills, Wendy Marks, Bobby Escamilla, Amanda Katoski, Doug Gray, Nina Borthwick, Emma Marks
The minutes from the November meeting were not available for review at the meeting; will be sent via email for review/approval.
Financial Report
Christy Sills opened by giving a high level report that we are on track with fundraising and expenses. Some funds will be moved around in order to cover instrument repair bills.
To date we have raised about $22K for next year’s operating budget. Mandy Trawick needed to step down as Fundraising Chair so Wendy Marks will take over temporarily through the end of the year. If you see Mandy please thank her for all she did for us this year—including running concessions!
Short term fundraising needs include the online end of year campaign. The group approved givebutter.com as the platform to use at the fees are marginal and the site encourages donors to pay the fees so that almost all of the funds go directly to the band (there is a 30-cent transaction fee) the band pays.
The coffee from the last fundraiser will be distributed to the students next week.
The candy bag sales brought in about $200 but because it is so labor-intensive we may not do this again next year.
Fundraiser concert at the HUB on Friday, December 13.
The group discussed other fundraising for 2020 for the 2020-2021 season and agreed that a garage sale at the school would be the simplest effective fundraiser. This will need to be approved by the school administration. Target date would be Saturday, April 4 as we are working around competitions, etc. Vendors would pay $50 for a parking spot for their sale and must bring their own table, tent, etc.
